Ho iniziato nel 1998, quando internet era ancora una novità e le sale server sapevano di silicio caldo e ambizione. Da allora ho accompagnato aziende nel passaggio da ISP dial-up a piattaforme SaaS, da server farm fisiche a cloud ibridi — sempre con la stessa convinzione: l'infrastruttura non è un centro di costo. È la fondazione su cui si regge tutto il resto. I started in IT in 1998, when internet access was a novelty and server rooms smelled of hot silicon and ambition. Since then I've helped companies transition from dial-up ISPs to SaaS platforms, from physical server farms to hybrid cloud — always with the same conviction: infrastructure is not a cost centre. It's the foundation everything else is built on.
Oggi lavoro a GOLINE SA a Stabio come sistemista & network engineer senior, occupandomi di rete, datacenter e infrastrutture di hosting/cloud per un provider ticinese che gestisce un proprio AS. In precedenza ho trascorso alcuni mesi in Nexto Networks Sagl a Lugano come consulente tecnico principale, progettando architetture cloud ibride e soluzioni di monitoraggio per clienti nel Canton Ticino, e sette anni come Coordinatore Area Sistemi in Moltiply Tech — leader italiano nel software per il leasing — dove ho ricostruito l'intera infrastruttura IT e guidato il team attraverso la certificazione ISO 27001 e ISO 9001. Today I work at GOLINE SA in Stabio as a senior systems & network engineer, handling networking, datacenter and hosting/cloud infrastructure for a Ticino-based provider running its own AS. Before that I spent a few months at Nexto Networks Sagl in Lugano as lead technical consultant, designing hybrid cloud architectures and monitoring solutions for clients across Canton Ticino, and seven years as Systems Area Coordinator at Moltiply Tech — Italy's leading leasing software company — where I rebuilt the IT infrastructure and led the team through ISO 27001 and ISO 9001 certification.
Il mio percorso include quattro anni di gestione di infrastrutture RIS-PACS per l'imaging medicale in Fujifilm Italia, e un anno alla guida della server farm dell'Ospedale Maggiore di Milano — 200 server fisici, zero tolleranza ai guasti. La sanità mi ha insegnato qualcosa che non ho dimenticato: un sistema in crash non è mai solo un problema tecnico. My background also includes four years managing RIS-PACS medical imaging infrastructure at Fujifilm Italia, and a year running the server farm of Ospedale Maggiore Milano — 200 physical servers, zero tolerance for failure. Healthcare taught me something I never forgot: a crashed system is never just a technical problem.
Fuori dalla sala server, ho trascorso oltre 20 anni come guida di rafting e istruttore di kayak. Quella combinazione di precisione tecnica e calma sotto pressione non è una coincidenza. È lo stesso bagaglio di competenze. Outside the server room, I've spent over 20 years as a whitewater rafting guide and kayak instructor. That combination of technical precision and calm under pressure is not a coincidence. It's the same skill set.
